Hail to Motopia?

Go to Motopia if you want a chillaxedd, hip vibe. Or if you slather over motorcycles.

The $100 a month charge to be a member not withstanding, the place has paper napkins that look like cloth napkins, cool coffee mugs, and Odwalla Bars for sale.

One Caveat: the place was seriously empty on a recent Friday evening. Seriously. It felt like a Motorcycle Ghost Town.

Motopia is a restaurant, coffee shop, and place to get your motorcycle fixed.  Find them at www.motopiacafe.com. Motopia is at 4123 N. Central Expressway (near Fitzhugh). Their number is (214) 443-8389.

This elusive blogger noticed 2 types of Espresso, 4 types of Cappuccino, and 6 types of Latte on the menu (that’s funny, except for Latte, I thought there was only 1 of each!)

I asked Marco Comonfort, 32, (from Guerrero, Mexico), who was working at Motopia, if Motopia gets mostly male customers (which seems to be the case.) ”Sometimes women come here to eat. Or they come with the motorcycle riders,” he said.

While eating a $7.99 Sincronizada (quesadilla with ham and cheese for those who don’t know), I noticed the selection of magazines on the wall included MAXIMMOTO Cyclistand Rider magazines. Motopia needs to have more girl magazines!

The Members Only policy is cheesy (anyone can go the first time, Comonfort said) . I suggest Motopia end this policy!

The HeartDallas.com BOTTOM LINE: Motopia is worth a visit, if a little pricey (see: above Sincronizada comment). Do ride a motorcycle there if you have one or know someone who has one. Do not become a member unless you really LOVE motorcycles.

I am going to go buy a fringed leather jacket.
