Mi Cocina in West Village

I recently took a friend to Mi Cocina in West Village. Mi Cocina in English means “My Kitchen” but it actually stands for delicious Mexican food!

Mi Cocina has multiple locations in the Dallas area, I’ve been to three locations in Dallas city and each of them has their own personality. My first experience with Mi Cocina was with the Preston & Forest location. This location appears more family oriented, in the corner there was a teenager’s birthday being celebrated. The lighting is dim, and the music isn’t intrusive. The location at Skillman and Kingsley is a bright location, a mix between the Preston & Forest location and the West Village location. All the locations are outfitted with modern decor.

The West Village location is hip…music blaring, outside patio, and the possibility of a wait to get a table. The first time I wanted to go to this location the wait was an hour and I was unwilling to wait that long (Saturday night), but the multiple following times I didn’t have to wait (wasn’t on a Saturday).

I normally order the #11 (Beef Taco, Chicken Burrito, Rice and Beans and choice of Side Sauce). Most people I know who like Mexican food tend to be enchilada fanatics but unfortunately I can’t vouch for their enchiladas, I am not a fan of enchiladas. However, I’m sure they are good at Mi Cocina. I have ventured beyond the #11 and never regretted ordering anything at Mi Cocina.
